HEALTH & SAFETY AUDIT

Companies must identify the Health and Safety requirements appropriate to their business activities. this is the law, failure to do so can result in large fines and potentially imprisonment in cases of accidents - particularly fatal ones

A Health & Safety Audit will review where you are regarding compliance with Health & Safety Regulations and provide you with a foundation for your future Health & Safety Strategy, by allowing prioritisation of actions. As a benefit should you have a HSE audit, having a schedule of improvements in place can work in your favour, they will of course monitor that you are carrying out the actions you have said you will, and may change scheduling or priorities, they will however normally treat you more  leniently than if you had nothing in place at all, in addition we can be there to discuss the whole program directly with the inspector (if you so wish or you have taken out that form of contract).

One of our Health & Safety Specialists will visit you and discuss the issues relevant to your company, and carryout a survey of your facility looking for areas of non compliance, this review will typically take around 2 hours. The Specialist will then identify your legal obligations and give you a verbal briefing on which steps are required to safeguard you business. A quotation would then be provided outlining all of the actions that need to be carried out and an agreed schedule formulated. Once agreed we will carry out the full program for you either carrying out all of the work or working alongside your designated staff.

The Health & Safety Audit addresses:

-         Compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations

-         Legally required documentation (such as H&S Policy, Risk Assessment Records, Training Records)

-         Manual Handling Issues

-         Display Screen Equipment Issues

-         COSHH Regulations Requirements

-         Fire Detection, Prevention, Signage, Exit Routes, Area Designations and Fighting Arrangements

-         Noise at Work Issues

-         Work Equipment – safety, guarding, training etc.

-         Training Requirements

-      DSEAR

-      Asbestos

-      DDA

We can do as little or as much of the work required to bring you into compliance with all relevant regulations, many clients take on some aspects of the systems control themselves, using us merely as "additional" labour to carry out specialised tasks -e.g. training - or to provide the additional manpower to bring the systems up to standard in a shorter period of time than otherwise possible. Other  clients take out a fully comprehensive package, making us their H&S officer and leaving us to carry out all of the necessary actions, for some of these we even sit on the Safety Committee, and have extensive powers within the facility. The level of support you want is up to you, and can grow or reduce as your fill best fits your needs.
