The Health and Safety minefield
Unfortunately not as easy to solve as the game that comes with Windows© |

Being a sole trader or a small organisation carries enough headaches without adding all the aggravation of Health and Safety, even large organisations can have problems negotiating their way through the ever increasing demands of H&S legislation. But if you follow a few simple steps then Health and Safety need not be that hard to deal with.
We all have responsibilities under the various Acts and Regulations though knowing what is what and which we need to comply with is the hardest part. With nearly 300 different acts and regulations it can take a lot of time just to determine which if any of them apply to you, let alone carry out the required assessments, training and documentation. Few companies are large enough to be able to justify a full time qualified H&S person, and few companies can afford the time for one of their senior staff to fully fulfil the needs of maintaining an adequate and effective H&S system within the company.
That is where AB Consultants International can help, we can provide the qualified assessors and a competent person for your company. With over 40 plus years of experience in H&S in a wide range of environments from a small office to heavy industrial we can provide what you need to meet your obligations, how you want it, and customised to your companies requirements no matter how large or small. If you have an H&S officer we can assist them with areas in which they lack the competence by taking on that part of the task, be it assessments, audits, training or other specialised area.
We work from boardroom to shop floor in order to produce a company wide H&S awareness, explaining to management and staff alike, their responsibilities under the law, and how they should meet them. By making H&S a system "owned" by all staff, your company can be a safer place to work, reducing accidents, and insurance premiums.
Many H&S consultancy companies work by providing you a generic H&S system and procedures which take no account of your specific needs and can actually not meet legal requirements, or will involve unnecessary work or actions from yourselves. They may give you a list of failings and short falls to your systems (leaving you to correct them), a list of risks (with no assessments or advice on risk reduction), they may offer a training course but it may not be tailored to your needs. try and contact many of these people on a Sunday bank holiday to help with an accident investigation and see what happens, we do provide a true 24/7 call out if required. These systems may look a good deal but they leave a lot for you to do directly which is why you wanted the help in the first place. We do not work that way - unless that is what you want - we will do as little or as much as you want and everything that we do is tailored exactly to your industry and needs.
Let us sort out the mines and defuse those that may effect you.
