Noise At Work 

The Control of Noise at Work Regulations come into force on 6th April 2006.  These update the Noise at Work Regulations 1989.  Significant changes have been made which will affect many work places; as highlighted below.

*Workers have a right to health surveillance (audiometric testing) where assessment indicates a risk to health
* mark as Noise Hazard Zone
*PPE must be worn at all times

An employer who carries out work, which is liable to expose any employees to noise at or above 80dB, shall make a suitable and sufficient assessment of the risk from that noise to the health and safety of those employees, and the assessment shall identify the measures which need to be taken to meet the requirements of the Regulations.
